A better way of life

I'd just like to say I'm tremendously sorry for not posting in so long. However I would like to add that as my life has had its downs in the last months (perhaps year) that things have finally made a turn for the better. Upon my recent triumphs its been decided that its out with the old and in with the new. Its time to wash my soul of the dust collecting within it. Weeks ago, perhaps a month or so ago I ran across an article on Shine by Yahoo "Let the gasping begin: Eloise Suite opens at the Plaza Hotel". Let me just say I must share with you some pictures. This makes me want to rip down the walls and decorate strap on a construction belt maybe even with a pink hammer. (Oh lord, what would Grandpa say). I meant to share this sooner so if you haven't seen it- here goes. The Eloise Suite designed by Betsey Johnson.

Reminisce, featuring Shel Silverstien

It all started with a few quotes I ran into this afternoon, which ended up leading to inspiration for this post.

Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth.”--Oscar Wilde

Now, I'm uncertain how I got from there to here. One thing always leads to another -then again it's not so bad. After this I remembered that I forgot about a poem I had published with Poetry.com in "A Palette of   Life".

Between You and Me
by Bren L Harney

Come laugh with me
Let our spirits run wild and free
Come sing with me
In unison, we bring harmony
Come sit with me
Let's talk
Tell our secrets and
deepest darkest thoughts
It's remarkable to see
What Happiness
Friendship brings
Knowing that happiness
Is a friendship
Between you and me

It was then, that I was brought back to the roots where it all began. My first Inspiration, Boa Constrictor by Shel Sliverstein. I believe that every child or one that remembers theirs knows of Shel and his wonderful work. You should never let go of your childhood or the very thing that makes you "you". Okay, now it's time to reminisce. Sit back, what is your favorite rug on the floor in the classroom while the teacher read "Where the Sidewalk Ends" or did your parent read to you every night, was it you and your best friend as you giggled and played fumbling through the pages.

Remember.......

Boa Constrictor

Oh, I'm being eaten
By a boa constrictor,
A boa constrictor,
A boa constrictor,
I'm being eaten by a boa constrictor,
And I don't like it--one bit.
Well, what do you know?
It's nibblin' my toe.
Oh, gee,
It's up to my knee.
Oh my,
It's up to my thigh.
Oh, fiddle,
It's up to my middle.
Oh, heck,
It's up to my neck.
Oh, dread,
                                           It's upmmmmmmmmmmffffffffff . . .

SICK
'I cannot go to school today, '
Said little Peggy Ann McKay.
'I have the measles and the mumps,
A gash, a rash and purple bumps.
My mouth is wet, my throat is dry,
I'm going blind in my right eye.
My tonsils are as big as rocks,
I've counted sixteen chicken pox
And there's one more-that's seventeen,
And don't you think my face looks green?
My leg is cut-my eyes are blue-
It might be instamatic flu.
I cough and sneeze and gasp and choke,
I'm sure that my left leg is broke-
My hip hurts when I move my chin,
My belly button's caving in,
My back is wrenched, my ankle's sprained,
My 'pendix pains each time it rains.
My nose is cold, my toes are numb.
I have a sliver in my thumb.
My neck is stiff, my voice is weak,
I hardly whisper when I speak.
My tongue is filling up my mouth,
I think my hair is falling out.
My elbow's bent, my spine ain't straight,
My temperature is one-o-eight.
My brain is shrunk, I cannot hear,
There is a hole inside my ear.
I have a hangnail, and my heart is-what?
What's that? What's that you say?
You say today is...Saturday?
G'bye, I'm going out to play! '

 KUGS AND HISSES

RUNNY'S HAND-NEW BRAT
Runny got a present-
A lovely hurple pat.
He put it on and pasked his als,
"What do you think of that?"
One said, "Ooh, it's storrible!"
One said, "Yuck--it hinks!"
Now Runny Babbit never asks
What other theople pink.

KUGS AND HISSES
Runny said, "I'm lonesome,
I feel so glad and soomy.
I need some kugs and hisses--
Now, who's gonna give 'em to me?"
"I will," said Polly Dorkupine
"'Cause you're cute as a rug in a bug."
Said Runny, "Well, I'll kake the tiss,
But never hind the mug."

RUNNY HUTS HIS OWN CAIR
Runny gave himself a cairhut
(But he would not admit it).
When his scamma molded him,
He said, "The darber bid it."
So she went to bee the sarber.
The swarber said, "I bear
I did not souch one tingle head
Upon your little hare."

Supercalifragilisticelectronica

Not only am I a big Mary Poppins fan, and I go around and about this place and that singing chim chim cher-ee and a spoonful of sugar, but I love Electronica and House music.
This new spin on Mary Poppins by Pogo, an emerging Electronic music artist used a composition of sounds from Disneys Mary Poppins to create 'Expialidocious'.

According to pogomix.net a website owned by Pogo (Nick Bertke) he's a 21-year old electronic music producer living in Perth, Western Australia.

"I have developed a large reputation on the internet for recording small sounds from single films or scenes, and sequencing them to form new pieces of music. Often described as 'Dream pop', and 'Trip House', my work has attracted an unexpected following that seems to be growing every day" - (Nick Bertke, www.pogomix.net/)

Waay cool right.
Honestly, I dont care what you think. I abosolutely love it. Right on, keep up the good work dude.

Its affirmative this song will be blissfully lingering in my head for as long as it remains.
Listen for yourself.
